As a leaser my attitude is very different from that of an owner worried about warranty. Maybe I can get this sucker dirt cheap when the lease runs up! Like, "look, you're just going to scrap this thing, which will cost you money - now how's about I save you the trouble and offer you $100 for it!"

I don't own a in warranty GM vehicle but would not hesitate to buy one. There are very few spare parts made by the major car manufacturers so parts availability is not an issue and if the governments guarantee the warranty I would sleep at night. I rented a Chevy Malibu in January and thought it was really nice vehicle and the mileage was pretty good, if I was in the market for a car I would consider buying one.

Saturn in a GM product and is also on the chopping block to be phased out.
