Winter Storm WarningIssued at 3:40 PM MDT Friday 1 April 2011

Summary
Intense winter storm developing tonight. This is a warning that dangerous winter weather conditions are imminent or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions...Listen for updated statements.

Details
A system moving through the Pacific northwest will move across the Rockies tonight. As a result snow and windy conditions will develop over southern regions of the province tonight. As ground temperatures are fairly warm the snow is initially expected to melt on contact. However by Saturday evening the warned regions will see anywhere from 10 to 25 centimetres. With sustained winds of 30 to 40 km/h expected in exposed areas blowing snow will also result. The storm will persist into Sunday.

So, I got all my running around done and I am staying inside for the weekend....... I'll get a picture or two.
Yes, this is me venting and moaning.....BIG TIME
I would have liked to think this was an April's Fools joke, but it isn't.

Have fun planting your flowers while I frigging showel the sidewalks......again

I've given up and am heading to Turkey in a few weeks. I type this as I watch yet another several inches of snow cover my backyard. It's gotten so bad here in Calgary that I now go on warm vacations in July just so I can get some summer during summer.

Geneo and Patrish, I truly envy you guys.

Eric, I don't blame you. This is the first winter in a long time we haven't headed South for some sun, heat.....
We go away in September to stretch summer. It soooo short lived here.
My skin is so white I would blind anyone looking at me. :) :)

It's been snowing heavy since I got up this morning.... non stop.
Like Al said, so much about global warming.

We had 2 inches of snow fall in about 2 hours yesterday. Constant rain all night and this morning made it all go away... Will it ever stop?!?!

Rick, there are times when I remember fondly the warm temps in Queensland, however I do recall watching the news and how dry it gets there for long periods of time. Our spring has started and it is raining as usual probably an inch of rain will fall within the next 24 hours then drizzle to follow, at least we got above 60 for the first time this year this past weekend even if it is only 51 today.

Mia, I really don't know what the heck I'm doing here. I keep saying there is no way I am going to retire here.
By the time I finaly sit down at night time, I have my PJ's on, and two blankets around me. :D :D

Now you know why Canadians take a vacation down south in the winter. Nothing like a good dose of sun. :)
