Sorry, I like cursing a bit in these so figure this is a better area...and only 4 or 5 of us care anyway.

Neil so got his ass kicked tonight

It was a pretty first goal though by the Sens on the 2 on 1

So...where is the cursing! I didn't see any of the game but from the paragraph I read this morning the game seemed as if it could have gone either way.

It was a good game, much better than the game against the Devils with the same outcome the other night.

There's a free preview of NHL Centre Ice on right now (last day), so I get to watch the Sabres/Rangers game. They're showing the MSG feed, and I have to say the picture quality SUCKS! I hope it's not normally like this. The production is pretty amateurish too, but maybe I'm just too used to the Canadian hockey broadcasts. Most Canadian TV is cheap and amateurish, but televising hockey is something they've got figured out.

I'm in chat, BTW, in case anyone cares.

Nope, it sucks.

We get an HD feed for the home games, hard to believe they dont have HD cameras at MSG

Sabres lost 10 in a row...yeah some in OT/Shootouts but 10 losses in a row. Sad

Ouch! In Football over here, even half that run and the manager's job would be in very serious peril. Go 10 games, you'd probably have half the squad transfer listed and the board in trouble too... Same with you or are the media and fans a touch more compassionate?

No, the locals are in an uproar.

Problem is the team hires players, mostly young and grooms them into very good players....then will not sign them to big contracts. Instead let them go elsewhere to flourish and then bring up a couple more kids from the minors...

In the 10 losses I think 6 of them were overtime losses and shootouts, but still they are losses. Sabres are 4 points out of the playoffs right now and need to get a fire under their ass.

Could be another costly win for the Sens. Beat up on the Canes, 5-1, but Alfredsson left the game early in the 2nd with a hip flexor :( They say it was just precautionary so he will hopefully be back in the lineup against Tampa on Saturday.

I saw the replays.

The Wings managed to overcome a few boneheaded plays and won in the SO. The win ended our three game slide, which in itself isn't bad ( 3 game), but we always expect a win. It was our worse losing streak since November 2006. ( 5 games).

A note: Since Osgood signed his 3 year extention he went from allowing 1.2 goals per game to 4.5 goals per game......and he'll be starting in the All Star game.

Well, that's one difference at least. If Manchester United were to have that sort of slide, most of Manchester would be pretty pleased - the annoyed ones would be everywhere else :-)

Holy crap! Looks like the Sabres are taking out some frustrations on Atlanta and busting out of their losing skid in a BIG way. 9-1 with about 5 minutes left in the 3rd. I'd say they have this one wrapped up big time. I wonder if they can get double digits?

Sens played a flat, uninspired game and got what they deserved for it. They were really missing Alfredsson's spark. Tampa Bay played a boring, sit back and wait game that I'm glad I wasn't able to see (wasn't televised).

Looks like Buffalo should have saved some of those goals for tonight.

Hopefully San Jose can beat Detroit, so the Sens don't lose any ground for top in the league.

The last 4 games I shot tonight there was the prettiest ref I have ever seen, she said she used to play hockey for Princeton...must not have been too long ago

Took a shot, will post it after I download it. Good thing the kids were all 8-10 else they may have been distracted.

Sorry...the fellows pulled one out by scoring 4 times in the second. :D Lindstrom played extremely well. Zetterberg on paper looked good with a goal and two assists.

I have a new view at the end of the first half of the season. Guess I can call them power rankings...what do you think?

Of course:

1 Red Wings Osgood needs to get back into the game

2. Ottawa Alfredsson needs to get back

3. San Jose Need McLaren healthy

Here's where I go outside of the box

4. Montreal Halak is hot

5. Anaheim 6. Philadephia 7. New Jersey 8.Pittsburgh 9. Minnesota 10. Vancouver

I was thinking Calgary or Dallas at the #10 spot but but I was at the game 1/17 and still think the Vancouver team is looking good. I just simply liked they way they played. Put Naslund back with the twins full time and I think the line will be outstanding. I think Pyatt was on that shift the other night.

I can't see Buffalo in the top 20...sorry Kurt. :( Maybe you'll pick up Jagr ! Heard he was on the block.

Don't think Jagr would do anyone any good, more of a prima dona than a player anymore.

Too bad the Sabres aren't catching the Sens now. With the two Dan's out of the lineup, the Sens are playing very bad, uninspired hockey. Some of the defensive breakdowns last night were just comical. Volchenkov completely wiped out Gerber at one point, directly resulting in one of the goals against.

If the Sabres met the Sens right now, I'm sure you'd be picking an avatar for me.

Better now then in April I guess.

Hey Kurt, you think the Sabres will take Emery for Miller?

Hmmm, good point. McGratten left the game with a shoulder injury last night, after getting his ass kicked by Cote. I guess we can't give up our only other heavy weight fighter at the moment.

Ok, somebody tell me why there are teams in the south east US???? I'm watching the Sens/Panthers game and I think all the people in the stands arrived on the same bus. They don't need to count the tickets, they'll just do a roll call to see how many are there. Pathetic.

And the NHL has made it all too clear (without actually saying it) that Canada will never get another team while Weasel Bettman is "leading" this league, despite having the most hockey crazed fans in the world.

I would agree, there is no reason for teams south of the Ohio River....and it needs to be larger cities like Pittsburgh instead of tiny towns like Columbus.

Can we skip to 2009 season? I am not totally giving up on the season yet but getting close to it.

Senators are sucking again tonight, even with Alfredsson back in the lineup. Only one more game to go before the all-star break, and then they better get their asses back in gear, and start playing the way they can. :?

And the NHL has made it all too clear (without actually saying it) that Canada will never get another team while Weasel Bettman is "leading" this league, despite having the most hockey crazed fans in the world.

The wealthy owners with ego issues buy a team or franchise and say...hmmmm my winter home is located here, so i think I'll put my team there. Remember Houston having a team? Hell there was only two ice rinks in the entire city, one for the team and the other inside the mall by Neiman Marcus (The Galleria). I went to the games and could walk down to row 1 and watch any game. Okay with the exception of all three Howe's being on the ice, that game had almost 3000 in attendence. Point is the south doesn't have a natural draw to hockey, how may kids grew up playing pond hockey in Florida or Arizona. Disney on Ice was their indrotuction to a rink.

PS Cleary kicked Prongers ass tonight. Game is just starting the third period at 12:07.
