This one is actually available.

And honestly if I actually had $4000 kicking around... well, good thing I don't.

That looks a bit like my aerial camera!

Anyway if you dig the look, there are various novoflexes for sale at KEH. They look way scarier than this, actually.

Are there more pictures of this thing? I think my german 9x12 magazine might just fit.

If you're just talking about those boring ol' gunstock telephoto lenses, nah.... too modern.

This thing is straight out of The City of Lost Children. The novoflex (or photosniper) is just what some russian villain in James Bond would carry. Boring ;)

I thought the thing on the back was the back end of a 9x12 plate camera, ala the Avus, but maybe you're right - it might be a magazine of some kind:

Looks like it has a curtain shutter like a speed graphic:

Don't make 'em like they used to ... (only four grand ... I'll take two).

Here's the magazine I have. I tried to sell it on Apug.org, with only one nibble. I actually think it's configured for the Graflex RB. Anyhooooo, it looked very similar at an angle.

I think it might be a roll film holder, probably for one of those big obsolete roll formats. If you look at it carefully you can see a knob / turn-key of some kind.

I would be interested to see the reaction at an airport if you brought that on your carry-on luggage. I think it might be considered an invitation to perform a cavity search.

Yeah, and if you think Joe Nikon has trouble with the occasional police intervention in his photography.... imagine using one of these. You'd probably be shot first and examined later.

When ever I whipped out my Pentax spotmeter on a President ... I got quite a few raised eyebrows from the Secret Service. Back to the camera ... seems to be something out of WWI.

There is a similar looking camera near the bottom of the page.
