Big Hero 6

Took this image for my kid’s room using his Big Hero 6 figurines.

Nice, I'm looking forward to seeing this movie. Nice lighting, my only crit is it appears dark overall. Maybe this was intended, but I think I would prefer more background separation, maybe with an additional back light or a circle of light thrown on the background.

Thanks Timmy! It's a great family movie and I really enjoyed it with my son. I totally agree with the background separation and would've liked to have some sort of back lit, alternate lighting, or a different background altogether but these figurines are quite small - about 2.5 inches height - so getting the light to behave as desired was a bit more effort. For background, I just used dark construction paper in the only color laying around the house.

Being honest, I was lazy and just wanted a decent negative to enlarge to a print that would make the kid happy :) Haven't printed it yet but I think he'll like it. Thanks again!

I've been meaning to come back to this. I agree, the lighting is really good, but it is dark overall.
I'm sure the boy is going to love it though!

Thanks Mike - I was able to lower the contrast in the darkroom and get decent separation from the background. Below is the print that is waiting for a frame before it gets on the wall.

The print looks great.

Cool you've gotten into 4x5. It's really rewarding.

Thank you walter! It's nice to see back here again.

BTW, I am addicted to large format and film in general and hopefully this doesn't end up in a 8x10 setup that I really don't need :)
