So, getting old memory is no where near what it used to be...I accept this.

I needed to send my 400mm into Nikon for repair a few months ago due to a short in its electrical. In getting it ready to ship, I removed everything including the long lens strap (Nikon part LN-1) and remember thinking that I needed to put it in a safe spot.

Anyone know where that "safe spot" is? I sure as hell don't remember. I have spent several 20 minute spans of time looking for it, all with no luck. Anyway, nikon was offering free shipping last week so I figured why not order a new one and received it yesterday. The lens strap simply makes it much easier to transport the lens, really cannot see having a long lens without one.

Anyway, right after hitting the order button I looked around again figuring now the strap would jump out and bite me. No such luck. It came yesterday, so I looked around again hoping to find it...no such luck.

One day when I am no longer looking for it, it will show up and I will think "oh yeah, thats where I put it."

I had similar experiences with "stuff." Guess what, not my fault. My wife would move it from my 'safe' place to where she thought the items belonged. Ask the wife!!!

And that's the way things are meant to be, so don't worry about it. Life is too short. Enjoy the new strap!
