Hey everyone. Well I mentioned in a previous post that I was going to be traveling soon, and that's what I've been doing for the last week - touring Italy. I met a couple of friends in Florence, where we stayed for a few days. Then we moved on to Siena, from where we also did a day trip to San Gimignano. Today I am in Bologna, and then tomorrow we move on to Venice where we will meet up with a larger group and stay the week before heading home.

So far, I have enjoyed every second. The old towns of Italy are absolutely beautiful - stunning. I could spend a lot of time just wandering the narrow streets.

I have too many photos to post here, so I'll just point you my gallery, and then post a few of my favourites. Keep checking the gallery if you like. I'll keep adding more photos as long as I can get a good internet connection.

Looks like you have been having a wonderful time, a very nice selection of images.

Love the guy on the bike talking on his phone. People must have death wishes, one handed riding is never recommended and the distraction of talking on the phone, a crash is inevitable.

Too many images to comment on but I do find the reflection in the bricks to be an outstanding image.

I'm in Venice now, where I'll stay for the remainder of the week. The internet in the hotel came back sometime this afternoon after being down for almost two days. Even when it is working, it's pretty slow. Pretty typical of travel in Europe. You can either let it ruin your vacation, or you can remember that you're in Venice and shouldn't be sitting around a hotel room anyway (although I often do in the afternoons when the light is too harsh to shoot). The weather was moody for the first two days, but it looks like it should be sunny and hot for the remainder of the week.

Here are a few favourites from Venice so far

(I have to admit, the eyes of the mask in this photo kinda creep me out, but I like everything else about it)

Good stuff Mike. I'm also away from home with a slow internet connection, so I'll check out your gallery when I get home next weekend.

Great work Mike, so much more than holiday snaps, each one a wall hanger imo! Keep them coming, but don't forget to try the ice-cream!

I made it home. Comfy bed, fast internet, but I haven't got my dog back yet :( (tonight). I'll give it a few days, and then I'll really start looking at my photographs from the trip, and post a few more. Traveling is great, but I do enjoy getting home.

You are a very talented photographer, Mike, and I have truly enjoyed your vacation gallery.
