have been soooo busy lately that I'm barely on my computer. My wife has had several surgeries ( nothing serious) and I am having a torn tendon on my elbow screwed onto the bone on June 20th. I can't hold my 70-200mm for more than a few minutes. Sold our house in Michigan, found another in Mississippi, meeting with movers, financial planners etc...etc etc.. We had a blowout yard sale getting rid of 35 years of "good stuff ." I should be able to get back in the swing by Sept/Oct.

All good thing run thier course. Maybe this has as well. I remember Kurt calling me for hosting the first site, remember slrshooters, soon after it became what it is today.

As for my photography, well is a nut shell it died. I have little interest anymore. Maybe someday it will come back but I think the switch to digital killed it for me, no slam on digital intended here more of a slam on me. I wish everyone here the best and I am sure some of us will run into each other some place else again.

From member #3 (I used to me ChrisL back then) take care all.......

My interest in photography has also diminished a lot. Perhaps it will return one day. It's been a lot of fun hanging out here. I'll stop by once in a while to see if anything is happening but this does feel like the end now :-(

Not to hasten Lightcafe's demise, but if you still want a relatively calm place to hangout, I recommend http://dpug.org , it's the digital sister site of the huge analog photography site apug.org

Walter23 got me onto lightcafe and I have enjoyed it even though I was an infrequent contributor. I have tried to revive things a bit lately by posting some images that have gotten considerable feedback on other forums, but alas nothing here.

Hope to see you all around. We will probably run into each other somewhere. I always go by my real name.

Eric

Last time I logged in here was last July. I enjoyed the photo forum stuff when I was eager to learn, buy new equipment and belonged to a couple of photo clubs. Then hit a plateau and slowly lost the enthusiasm. This is the third summer that we are going on a major motorcycle vacation, last year we went to Newfoundland this year Tofino BC. All my photos last year were taken with a Panasonic point and shoot.

here is a Youtube video of last years vacation pics

Anyway I wish everyone a bright and happy future

Gerhard

Well, I got a new job, so leaving the old one and starting a new one created some difficulties... I notice even fewer posts then we had. I'm hoping this post will email notify the few of you that particated here... Where do we go from here? I would very much like to keep in touch with all of you. Facebook group? Flickr group? G+?

I'd suggest FB and/or G+. I think EVENTUALLY G+ is going to be a lot bigger than it is. For now, though, nothing has more eyes than FB. I belong to the "Creative Photography Group" on FB, and those posts show up on my timeline, so it's cheap advertising. If we post kickass pictures, including stuff we've already posted, I think we could attract attention.

Yeah, sort of same. I have kids now so I don't have much time to take pictures except of them, and there isn't a comprehensive lab to process sheet film around here, so it makes the LF photography I liked so much a challenge.
