Hi all

I've ended up editing a rather larger video than normal - instead of the usual few minutes of joined clips for Youtube et al this will be about 25-30 minutes with probably about a hundred clips edited together by the time it's finished, titled and so on. Windows Movie Maker is beginning to creak at the seams.....!

Has anyone else got recommendations for something better? It won't get used enough to justify a big budget but I'm happy to pay a bit rather than waste time with rubbish.

Thanks :)

Adobe Premiere is expensive, but very good.

Yeah, that's over four times what the camera cost :-) I can't see the program getting used more than a couple of times a year so I'm not really looking to spend that much.

iMovie seems to handle simple editing jobs very well but I am going to guess that you don't have a Mac. I can't comment on anything else since I only use Final Cut Pro which is expensive.

Research Pro Show Gold. I downloaded the trial version a while back and it was pretty easy to use. I heard many good reviews from others so I gave it a try.

I bet Adobe offers a free 30 day trial like they do with all their other products.

If you are on a Mac, there is Final Cut Express, somewhat the "light" version of Final Cut Pro. A very capable program and easy to use.

Sorry, Windows. Might see if there's a trial available - Premier Express was on the list, but I'd forgotten about that option.

Sony Vegas Pro 9.0c, easy to use, easy to learn, great results :-)
