This could be the color or the emotion abstracted or literal, get out there and make a shot where blue has special meaning or tells a story.

Two images per photographer

New images get extra credit, if for some reason you must get into the archives try to be as current as you can.

Most important have fun and encourage your friends to join in.

I will pick the top select, my favorite, August 5th.

I don't know if this meets the guidelines but I'll use it to get the ball rolling. A photo I shot of my son scuba diving, however and apparently, I did some tweaking in curves/levels to make it a cover for the vacation photobook.

Awesome photos, once again. Here's my humble contribution. These are jelly fish tanks in a room where soft, mellow music plays in the background. Such a nice place to relax and meditate, the blue color enhancing the mood.

Those are jelly fish tanks, Mia, and Oh, I love how you pull off busy-looking pictures. I could never successfully compose such shots.

It's been over 100 degrees the last three days (it was 103 at my home yesterday :? ) in this area (eveyone is suffering but this is unusual here). For some reason I'm missing days like when this image was captured. Cold, clear blue skies and 14" of snow on the ground (or roof of my home in this case). Mr. Blue Jay...and I wish it was taken recently.

Haven't joined the recent challenges, but I'll try and shoot something for this one, just to get back into my photo grove. Although, I think the winner has already been posted (that's all I'll say for now) ;) .

It took me several hours of searching my external hard drvies for this image. I hope it's blue enough for this challenge. The frame is translucent blue (my favorite color) and I did all the motor work and powder coating myself on this ATV (I actually rebuilt it from the frame up three times each year I rode it). I used to race motocross and this was my hobby prior to photography (ATV motocross actually led me into photography in a way). I raced the old mans division and it was fun...all everyone worried about was being able to pay their mortgage after the race was over.

In the interest of participation, I went for a rare walk tonight at the Notre Dame campus. I had 'blue' in mind but I've been there before and knew it was going to be slim pickens'. Aside from a couple of blue signs, this was honest to goodness the only blue I saw.

Can this not count please? Couldn't resist posting though.

On a slightly, but not very more serious note....

After the failed ND outing (as far as blue is concerned) I came home and shot this one. This is a statue thingie walking distance from my house. The spotlights change color all night long and I've been thinking about shooting it for over a year, so I went and took a few test shots.

Image

Thank you Scott for getting me off my backside for a while this evening.

Your welcome Greg, I like your second image, If you have time try this. Get to the statue thingie after the sun has set but while the sky is still cobalt blue then wait for the spotlight to change to blue and see what it looks like. Or maybe even better if the light turns orange the complementary colors just might work really well.

This is going to be tough, I am sure you all have favorites as I do but my favorites have changed several times. Keep the images coming still about a week to go.

Or perhaps walk away uninjured. I my case I would be lucky to be walking after even an old mans race. The craftsmanship is evident in this image.

Thanks for the tip, Scott. Just so you know, the magic moment is my time, my favorite genre. I do most of my work then so I am very familiar with what you are talking about. And I do plan to do that. Good idea about the oranges, BTW! Wouldn't have thought of that one for sure.

For this challenge though, I wanted to blue to jump in the viewers face and thought full dark might be effective. Frankly, it's not my worst full night image, but not very good either so a do over is imminent in any case. Plus, I forgot to bring my shutter release cable so didn't even bother to lock the mirror up and know stuff moved.

Please keep the input and tips coming.
