Challenge 112 is all about dramatic and interesting weather, show me harsh storms at sea, rays of sunshine pouring through clouds, snowstorms, people caught in a rain shower, misty sunrises - whatever you want, as long as there's some serious weather going on.
Extra points if you get something this week but I realise that not everyone will have something knocking around in their recent archives from the last year, so if you dont have something recently, post something from as far back as you like, but please say how old it is!

I'll judge the entries Sat 15th Oct in the evening (my evening, which is British Summer Time!)

Hope you all have fun!

[edit] - Provide as many entries as you like but please let me know which one you want judged or i'll go for the latest one posted.

Cheers
Jamie

I will start things off with an image from last month as the weather in October in the northwest looks like this all month., I probably won't get to the beach before the deadline where I love to take weather photos. I will replace this with a newer image if I can get something I like better.

One last one much older still. We don't get lightning very often in the northwest we just don't get the clashing warm and cool flows needed to generate the electricity. We have had one or two weak storms this year but not at a time when I could get out and shoot anything worthwhile.

Darn it. I've been watching the weather every day since the challenge was posted. I kept hoping for something photo-worthy. Like a hurricane. Or a flood.
Or a tornado. But no such luck. It has been boringly sunny and warm. I hate to miss participating in a challenge, and the end is near. But today my friend
Gail and I had lunch in Murrells Inlet. It was one of those crazy days we get at the beach that makes you wish you were a weather forecaster, so you could
be wrong half the time and still keep your job. I snapped this just before the clouds filled up and heavy rain drenched us.

The weather has been quite benign here recently, so I had to go back to last December:

Scott
Reflections on a beach
Nice mist and good focal point placements. Orange top is almost selective colour! Sky's a bit bland, but nothing you can be blamed for really. Maybe a grad filter, but there aint much you could've done with it.

Phil
Football in the rain (why is it called football? lol)
Really makes me feel sorry for them, the rain looks torrential. Well lit and captured (perfect shutter speed. They all look like they're getting a sturn talking to from the ref.

Mike
Times Square Reflections
I loved this the first time I saw it, the colours and reflections are great. I especially like it as you get to see feet running out of frame as someone dashes for cover. A really strong image for me, well seen and captured.

Dwayne
Purple Lightening
Great capture, respect, it's something i've never captured myself. I do like the colouring, adds to a charged atmosphere! I do like the waY i can see the bolt through the tree too.

Scott
Sepia Surfers
You kinda indicated you weren't entering these as you stated "just for fun", but I was really taken by the surfers and that magnificent sky. This is exactly what I was taking about when I requested dramatic! The treatment works beautifully, a superb image.

Bambi
Snowy scene
I very much like the bokeh'd snowfall in this, gives a cold, wintery feel.

Patrish
Boats before the storm
Oh wow, i'm loving that sky Patrish! The great thing about this shot is the impending storm, but the light's still there, lighting up the building and the boats nicely. Hope you didnt get too wet!

Paul
Under a tonne of snow
Oh how I remember that week Paul. I really like snow, but I was well and truly sick of it last year, it just wouldn't shift would it? Good documentary shot which bought back unwanted memories, thanks! lol

Mike's shot is the winner for me, the colour, the dash for cover, the colours in the reflected puddle all work really well for me. I'm putting Patrish in second place with her shot, love that sky.

Scott, I would've had you in second, quite possibly first with that surfer shot if you hadn't excluded yourself! I think it's a cracking image!

Thanks to everyone for entering. Looking forward to the next challenge Mike, and well done on doing a double!
