Hi Folks I am your new host for a Challenge which will be Challenge #116 and the theme is Go Bananas, that is, shoot any image but include a banana in it somewhere.

I realize that there is a possibility that someone may not have access to bananas, bananas in you area may be to expensive, or someone may be allergic to bananas, etc. I do not want anyone to be left out so in such cases you may use a composite image where the banana in it is not your image or an image containing a image of a banana such as somebody reading a magazine with a banana on or in it, etc.

It is not necessary to have the banana as the main subject (just somewhere in the image) so it can be a image of your down town with a banana on the window sill of a store or;
an image of a wall with a framed picture containing a banana,
your breakfast,
a bowl of fruit including a banana,
bananas of a different color, etc.
The images can be heavily edited, provocative or funny, etc. or simple as a bunch of bananas.
Be creative, have some fun and just Go Bananas!.

From Wikipedia:
No I am not going that bananas! LOL!

2 entries per person only please, and from as far back as you like, but of course great if created for the Challenge.
I have stretched the week to include 2 weekends and you have until December 12 at 08:00 UTC/GMT Time to enter and then the winner will be selected. For you convenience on knowing the closing time here is a World Clock link -
http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_UTC.aspx

And a few small examples to start us off but just “Go Bananas!”

March Showers Bring April Flowers and Bananas~

Slim, member of Indio's gang: What is it Nino?
Nino: Indio wants you to...

Nino: Here is your banana with bullets but listen don't let Indio find you around.

There was some fun with this theme before in a challenge I ran and you can see examples of it here so that you may get some additional ideas ~

Taken for the challenge. Red bowl (including text) a gift from sister-in-law. Banana and apple from Wal-Mart. Additional text and art by yours truly.
Taken with my Canon S95 point and shoot in the kitchen with a black coreboard for the background.

Nice one, Mia!

Come on, everyone. We're looking forward to some more 'banana' posts before the deadline. These challenges are a lot more fun if there are more than two participants.

It's that time of year. Response to the challenges, and the rest of the forum, always drops off during December as people start thinking more about Christmas than photography. I suggest that the deadline be extended by a week, and hopefully that will give people more time to come up with some entries.

I'll have to go buy some bananas. I looked at them in store today, but they were pretty green, and I hate green bananas (I know, they'll ripen up at home, but by the time I think of them again, they're brown  )

I don't like bananas :(

That aside, I'm also struggling with a concept. I'm hoping some inspiration will strike soon...

No problem Kim, not your fault at all. It just happens around this time of year. We keep things relaxed. If it appears more time is needed for a challenge, then more is given. There's no hard rule about time limits.

I'd suggest whoever wins this challenge wait until the new year before starting the next one. That's what we've done in previous years.

I promise to come buy some bananas and come up with something for this challenge before the new deadline!
