Thanks guys, but Mia, you still haven't told us what you have hidden behind those canes ;)

Congrats Bambi, a dog is certainly a representation of home for me. I quit a remote job just so that I could be back home with my dog ;)

Now - too late for me but I figured I'd throw this in anyway just because I shot for it. I have a busted up foot and moving around is hard so I had to stay within close range of the car for this.

Anyway, two shots representing my home town:

The city from one of the hills. The strait of juan de fuca is in the background, and across that (not really visible due to fog) is the Olympic Mountains of Washington. I sat here and puffed a cigar for an hour while enjoying the scenery.

Ah Walter, I was hoping you would get them in on time. I thought you'd given up on the idea so thanks for posting.

I really like that first one. It looks like you've managed to capture two very different environments in one shot. Photoshop involved by any chance? I also like how the cloud and tree mirror each other in the second to balance the picture. Both very clever images.

Hope the foot sorts itself out soon!

Nope. You can't go anywhere without being surrounded by nice little scenes in this town and that's sort of what I was getting at here. I'm probably going to make this a regular winter cigar smoking spot, I like looking at the tree in the mirror while enjoying the vista out the side and front ;)

Anyway not award winning shots by any means (more snapshots) but thanks for commenting. Look forward to the next challenge.

Thanks Timmy- I was floored to win with all these stunning images. Really. And we don't always have snow -on my beach scene the snow is just to the side. :) We do have seasons but I wanted to in the timeline.
now I have to come up with a contest theme. let me ponder. ....
