I'm gonna be late for work but I couldn't go any longer without posting something, I'd be feeling guilty all day!

VINTAGE; old style, old items, antiques, anything that makes us think of the good 'ole days. An HDR old car or train, a box camera, an old farm house in sepia a photo from a war reenactment etc.....

Here is a photo from a LC member I retouched months ago, I think it was Frank. :) You can submit your versions, in fact, I know someone has quite a few photos that meet the Vintage idea.

Contest runs until the morning of November 19th when I awake for my morning dash to work.

I think it should be okay to submit up to six (6) images per person

Photos should be within the past ten years, we can't pull things we shot with our Brownies back in 1962. :-P

Something that may remind us of a by gone era..

Old Style fashion (not my photo)

An old building that you may have experimented with some processes.

No, it's actually an old photo of my mother. The buildings are from a trip to France in 2008.

Thanks, Thunder and Phil. I really appreciate the compliments. My mother died when I was 11, so I don't have many pictures of her. My brother and I shared those we had, so they are very precious to me.

I'm extending this challenge to the last day of November...we'll call this a "monthly" challenge I guess! If you purchased something when I started challenge 137 it is close to qualifying as vintage.

Taken just a few days ago. Sorry about the size; getting used to Photobucket.

Johnny wanted a shot for his resume. I thought he looked like a 1940's era jazz musician.
I don't know about you, but I would be more inclined to hire a guy like this than someone with a conventional photo.

I've been away the last couple of weeks (with no time for photos...my 'holidays' generally turn into busy rushing around) but I'll try and get something in for this.

Well, the new month is upon us and it's time to conclude my monthly challenge.

Although I have few images to look at it is not that easy of a choice.

TimmyG: you crack me up the bust immediately reminded me of Marlon Brando! You covered several vintage ideas, indoor smoking and philosophy in the mix.

Thunder: I love the John Deere. I used to drive one like this down on great grandpa's Arkansas farm back in the early 60's. I think he had a McCormick with real rubber wheels too.

Patrish: 3 great images, the tone on #2 gives it the oldtime feel. The framing around your mother's photo was the perfect touch for the image.

mashimisha: I'm chosing your "jazz man" as my favorite. The texture of the image gives the sense of an old 60's media print. The wide tie is also old school. I had a high school teacher that looked at me that way "Phil, having the right answer isn't enough you must know why you are right. Because I think so is not a fact!"

:D I found a photo of the old McCormick tractor. I'm guessing this was me and my sisters circa 1959-60. Notice the front wheels very close together? There wasn't power steering so this tractor had the narrow front that would turn on a dime. Each rear wheel had it's own brake that allowed you to spin in circles. Imagine me out in front of the barn spinning in circles...............
