Apparently this hasn't been used for some time so I think it could be interesting to try. As a people shooter, I have little experience depicting motion so I will be most interested in your appoach. Here are a few examples I have tried...

Just a fun shot while out for a ride. I like this topic so I'll see what else I can come up with.

Great! Thanks for stepping up Lazarus. Bike wheels have an interesting effect with motion stopped near the center of the wheel, but less so near the rim.

Those are great John... Just to be fair to others, could you number the three that you would like considered official entries? :) Thanks

That's cool Phil, Water in motion adds so much to a shot. How about you landscape shooters showing us some more?

Those are great additions folks... nice timing on the moving ball Timmy and also that melon Patrish.

If you haven't posted yet, today is the last day, so please get it in. I'll announce the winner tomorrow.

I'll just quickly sneak one last one into it.

Shot this today specifically for the challenge. Camera mounted on my skateboard with an ultra wide lens.
Roughly 2.5s exposure.

As usual, you guys make it a tough choice. Just a few comments on my favorites:

Lazarus, I’m really liking the creativity in your shots… I don’t think I would tie my cam to a skateboard – great idea.

Phil, Nicely timed catch of the swimmer.

Timmy – the processing on your model makes it look really real. I think I need to try that.

Patrish, your melon toss is a really good candid capture and a great example for the challenge…. You should shoot people more. :)

Thanks to all who participated.. Oh, did I forget something? No – My favorite here is John’s horse and buggy… It has it all… a great mood with the story of people out for a ride in the buggy in spite of the cold… the lighting lending a mood of festivity, and meeting the challenge: some really nice panning coupled with motion blur on the horse’s feet and the wheels rotating.. Great Job… So John, You’re it my friend.. Over to you for the next challenge.

I was actually intending to use my samsung NX10 that I bought extremely cheap so if it did fall I'd be a lot less bothered than my D300 falling. Turns out the battery for the samsung is dead and for some unknown reason the charger is at a friends house I've never even been to. So I was left using the D300.
I tried doing the photo by actually rolling along with it but the bumps were making the camera shake and blurring the board as well. In the case of the image I posted I was actually just carrying the board along slightly above the ground while holding the camera as flat as possible.

Anyway, congratulations John. I really liked that shot as well. Excellent color in it, well chosen!

Wow, thanks Al, I never expected to win. I'll now have to think of a new subject. Be patient, I'm not very good at this. :)

Laz, is that you on the bike in the motion photo? You have an interesting face! No, seriously....it's a great shot! Mounting your camera on your skateboard? I'd say that's a little more dangerous 8)
