This is cool. Nice subject matter.

I googled fotosketcher to see what it was exactly, and discovered it was free! Bonus. I might just have to try it out...

Hi Geo,

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, as they say. So I decided to check out and try your recommdation, and I hope you don't mind if I post a simple example in your thread. The only thing I would say is that when you characterize it as "fun", I think that may set the bar too high for use of the term, and maybe it should be described as "intoxicating" or some other such word for very, very, very fun. I am not sure we have a word for it, but it is a trip! And it's free as TimmyG noted, which makes it even more "fun".

Thank you so much for sharing this :D

Looks like a fun program. I may have to try it out. That bottom sheep almost got lost in the shuffle- he kinda blends in. Nice Job.

Thanks, Geo. That means a lot coming from an expert like you....

But seriously, I don't know if you have tried the paint stroke options, but they are a sheer joy to watch happening.
I used to paint in oils and in fact made my own paint when I worked for DuPont in formulating paints. I would take fairly expensive pigments and make my own oil colors with a lab three-roll mill.
My favorite works were the cover of the book Flowers of Evil by Charles Boudelaire and some works by Paul Klee I had on a few music albums. Without any instruction or knowledge, I just enjoyed trying to copy these images. And I recall how that exercise temporarily transformed my daily visual experience of light and color just while driving to work and then back home.

It's so wonderful, now that we have technology, to just sit back and let this program go, watching the brush strokes happen. To me it is so magical; like watching colorful exotic tropical fish swimming in an aquarium.

I just like watching it do the same picture over and over again, making some small changes. It's about the process, not necessarily the outcome, but that can be pretty cool too.

Hopefully I'll find something of equal value that I can share with the members of the forum sometime in the future.

Thanks again.
