Reworked it a bit. Still not really finished with the cape at the bottom. I've had the idea to do this with costume for a long time but just haven't gotten it together to go do it. So here's the digital artwork version.

Hmm.. I think I prefer it with the skull. But either way, it needs the bottom of that cloak sorting out.

Either that or, as you suggest, you better grab yourself a blanket and head back there ;)

haven't seen the other versions but i think this is awesome. You can see the branches through the black cloak. Is this intentional?

the skull....THE SKULL.....????

I WANT TO SEE THAT VERSION.... THE IMAGINATION RUNS WILD !!!

This all reminds me of one of the Deep Thoughts by Paul Handy

It sort of goes like this....

"When I found the skull in the woods, my first thought was to call the police.
But then I picked it up and looked at it, and asked myself:
'Who was this person?'
'And why did they have... deer antlers?' "

I have been imagining an image like this, without the central figure, Walter, to go with the first tercept of Dande,

Nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita
mi ritrovai per una selva oscura,
ché la diritta via era smarrita
.

My preferred translation:

"In the midst of life's journey,
My awareness became as of one in a dark wood
Where the clear path had been wholly lost."

With some subtle changes, like the antlers, in the subject, this concept might work for your image. :D

Neat..dark and haunting..have you tried adding some shadow to where the cape meets the ground with a dark brush? it may blend it in better..or mist to cover it partially..
